Interview with Lindsey Pate, Celebrate Cannabis’ New President
The Celebrate Cannabis Board is also pleased to unanimously vote Lindsey Pate to serve as President of Celebrate Cannabis. We want to thank Jennifer Clifton for her leadership as the outgoing president – she was instrumental in getting this organization off the ground. Thankfully, Jennifer will continue to serve as a Celebrate Cannabis as a board member.
Lindsey Pate is CEO and Co-founder at Glass House Grown, a local craft cannabis business. She has been an active voice in the local cannabis community serving as a member of the Marijuana Advisory Committee for Deschutes County and facilitating industry tours to further progress local normalization efforts.
What drives you to serve your community and advocate for cannabis?
When I was young I was very inspired by civil right leaders and their movements that opened doors for equality. For me cannabis advocacy is connected to innate civil liberties and Central Oregon’s right as a community to have positive economic development from this plant. I am so inspired by the history of cannabis as an industry and where we are headed. There’s nothing I’d rather be doing!
What do you hope to accomplish by working with Celebrate Cannabis?
Coming out of the shadows and into the light is what cannabis reform is all about and we need community involvement every step of the way to ensure that our local cannabis economy is true to Central Oregon. I want help create a space where cannabis can be celebrated openly and a platform that supports community collaboration.
